Rambrant Lighting:
1) It is unique because it creates a triangle shape on the subject's face which is used to show dimensions of the face and highlight under the eye and cheek area..
2) To do this you would put a light on one side of the subject's face by the side so it will make a shadow which will reflect a triangle on the other side.
Butterfly Lighting:
1) It is unique because it creates a shape under the nose that looks like a butterfly and is used commonly in old Hollywood and beauty photography to give dimension and depth to the face especially on the nose area.
2) To create this you would put a light above the subject facing down that will make the nose create a shadow down.
Loop Lighting:
1) It is unique because it makes a looping shape under the nose that usually faces one side and it is used to add depth to the face.
2) To create this you would put the light above the subject slanting down one way to use to nose to create a shadow that faces one way.
Split Lighting:
1) It is unique because it highlights one side of the face and darkens the other which is used to make a depth effect and focus on one point.
2) You do this by putting the light on just one half of the face and leaving the other in the darkness.
